Sploder is experiencing a huge increase in visitation, around 300% in the past month, and no signs of slowing down. People are having a great time, and building a strong user base, with penetration into MySpace and blogs all over the web. I’m adding new stuff and people are coming up with some pretty amazing games. I think online game-creation is one of the new frontiers on the web. I’m hoping to build all kinds of new game-types for the site, ride the wave, and see where it goes.

I’m all about building cool tools for making your own creations on the web. Whether it be your own city, a gallery or slideshow or games like these, the joy is in empowering people with tools to enhance their creativity. I have a strong belief in the web as a medium that allows everyone to be entertained, but also interact - to express their creativity and create an impression.

Working full-time at the same time that I’m building fun projects like this is tough work. I’m sure a lot of you out there have your own pet projects that you work on - ideas that provide you with the fulfillment to keep you going. Some day, I hope I can work on stuff like this full-time. As the web grows, and the Web 2.0 market matures, I hope to see the web become a place where artists can make a living, much like the music and movie industry. Time will tell.
