Adobe to Launch Online version of Photoshop.
CNET reports that Adobe is going to launch an online version of Photoshop within six months (found via Mashable).
I’d like to see how Adobe will take advantage of the social aspects of the web for this app. Perhaps integrate photo-sharing or layer-sharing into it. Users or advertisers could share or sell ‘photo objects’ for others to use in their PSD files. Also, collaborative editing could be cool. You see a lot of “Photoshop Tennis” going on where people send Photoshop files back and forth. Photoshop Online would make this that much easier.
I’m not sure, though, how convenient applications like this will be until Flash allows for drag and drop from the desktop and client-side file manipulation. Perhaps Apollo will bridge this gap.
