Slideshows with Transitions

Filed under: Flash — geoff @ 1:30 am

Yin, meet Yang.... Yang, meet Ying.I just put the finishing touches on a new feature of my site, Slideroll. I’ve added a choice of 10 transitions to the slideshow creator. Now, instead of only fades, you can add neato special effects. Give it a try. Look for the yin yang button.

  1. Nice work. But the image movements are jerky. Is this just a Macintosh problem? Am on a fiarly speedy G4.

  2. I’ve noticed the jerkiness on my G4 Powerbook as well. I am posting the slideshow here with WMODE=”transparent” so that the background shows through. This seems to REALLY slow down the slideshow on a mac. Did you view the slideshow on the site itself and see the same slowness?

I haven’t seen the same slowness on a PC. I’m currently deploying that code with WMODE=”transparent” by default. Perhaps I should take it off. But, I do like the ability to better integrate the show with one’s own site.
